Booking conditions

These conditions apply to trips sold by Man on Rock Trips, operated by Redpoint Vision [legal entity + company number TBC] ("we", "us"). They form part of your contract with us, together with the pre-contract package travel information and the acknowledgement of risk. We are a package organiser under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018.

1. Making a booking

You book online by completing the booking form and paying a deposit of £200 per person (or the full price, if you choose). The person who books ("the lead booker") confirms they are 18 or over, authorised to book for any named guest, and that everything entered on the form — including the climbing CV on Crew Week bookings — is accurate and honest.

2. Crew Week: CV review before confirmation

Crew Week places are conditional on our review of your climbing CV. We review within 48 hours of booking. If we conclude the trip is not the right fit, we will tell you why and refund your payment in full, immediately and without deduction. Your booking is confirmed only when we send a written confirmation; the contract is made at that point.

3. Price and payment schedule

• The Crew Week · Écrins · 9–16 Jan 2027: £795 per person, including 6 nights' accommodation, all meals and crag lunches, airport pickup and in-resort driving, daily venue and conditions planning, and the photography package.
• Not included: flights, travel insurance, personal technical kit, alcohol, drinks and personal extras. Kit hire can be arranged at cost; hire prices are set by the hire shop and are not guaranteed by us.
• Deposit £200 per person at booking; balance (£595 per person) due 8 weeks before departure via an emailed payment link.
• If the balance is unpaid 6 weeks before departure we will remind you; if it remains unpaid 5 weeks before departure we may treat the booking as cancelled by you and the cancellation charges below apply.

4. If you cancel

Tell us in writing (email to hello@manonrock.com). Cancellation charges, as a percentage of the total trip price: [scale TBC — to be confirmed on travel-law review]

• More than 8 weeks before departure: deposit only.
• 8 weeks to 4 weeks: 50%.
• 4 weeks to 2 weeks: 75%.
• Less than 2 weeks, or non-arrival: 100%.

You may transfer your place to another suitable person (on Crew Week, someone who passes the same CV review) up to 7 days before departure, per regulation 9 of the 2018 Regulations; a reasonable transfer fee may apply.

5. If we cancel or change

• Minimum numbers: the trip runs with a minimum of 6 guests. If we cancel for numbers we will tell you no later than 20 days before departure, with a full refund of all payments.
• If we make a significant change to the package before departure, you may accept the change, take a substitute trip if we offer one, or cancel with a full refund.
• If we cancel for reasons other than your fault, you receive a full refund and, where the 2018 Regulations require it, compensation.

6. Weather and conditions

Ice climbing depends on conditions. Daily venues, and on occasion the day's activity, are decided by conditions; an alternative valley, dry tooling, or other suitable alternative within roughly an hour's drive is always planned. Changes of venue or activity forced by conditions are a normal feature of the trip, not a significant change to the package.

7. Insurance — mandatory

You must hold travel insurance covering ice climbing and mountain rescue, including helicopter evacuation, for the full trip dates. We check policy details before departure; without them you cannot join the trip and cancellation charges apply.

8. Your responsibilities

• On the Crew Week you climb as your own independent, self-directed party — see the acknowledgement of risk. We do not provide guiding, instruction or supervision of climbing on this trip.
• You must follow reasonable safety directions at the house and in vehicles, and behave with reasonable consideration for the group. We may end the trip of anyone whose behaviour or condition endangers others, with no refund for unused services.
• Tell us at booking about dietary requirements, allergies, and any medical condition relevant to a week of winter climbing.

9. Our responsibility

We are responsible for the performance of the travel services included in the package under the 2018 Regulations. Nothing in these conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. We are not responsible for the consequences of your own climbing decisions made as an independent party, as set out in the acknowledgement of risk.

10. Insolvency protection

Your payments are protected in accordance with the 2018 Regulations. [Provider and reference — ABTOT bond or trust account — TBC before first balance payment is taken.]

11. Complaints, law and versions

Raise any problem with your host immediately so it can be fixed on the spot; follow up in writing within 28 days of return if unresolved. These conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales [jurisdiction TBC with entity]. We record which version of this document you accepted, and when; this is version 1.
